Blackout Leaves Up to 5 Million Without Power

The worst blackout in 20 years struck southern Sweden and eastern Denmark, leaving up to 5 million people without electricity and crippling industry, airports, trains and bridges.
Power went out in the early afternoon at stations that included two nuclear plants, but by early evening most consumers were supplied again, officials said.
Factors cited as possible causes included maintenance on cables connected to Germany and Poland.
