Police Seek Suspects in Fatal Drive-by Shooting
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in a drive-by shooting in Carson that left one young woman dead and another seriously wounded.
The women were sitting in a car in the 300 block of Sherman Drive talking to friends at about 12:42 a.m. Saturday when they were shot without warning from a passing car, said Sheriff’s Deputy Ron Bottomley.
Nicole Williamson, 19, of Compton died at the scene, and Raynisha Bates, also 19, was taken to a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso, Bottomley said.
Homicide detectives are seeking two or three male suspects who were in a dark blue or black late-model Nissan Altima or Toyota Camry that fled the scene. No motive has been determined.
Anyone with information may call the Sheriff’s Department at (323) 890-5500.
