From Bloomberg News
Intel Corp. has developed a manufacturing method to shrink the size of wires in chips and cut costs by packing in twice as many transistors as current processes allow.
With the new process, 10 million transistors can fit in an area roughly the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen. The chips will be produced in volume in 2005, Intel said.
Intel shares jumped $1.14 to $33.46 on Nasdaq.
