Ex-Exec of Epic in Talks With Universal Music

Universal Music Group is in discussions to hire Polly Anthony, former president of Epic Records, to a top post in its new DreamWorks division, sources said. No deal has been made, but the talks could result in a new job for the veteran executive, sources said.
Insiders have speculated that Anthony, who exited her job at Sony Corp.’s Epic label two months ago amid a corporate restructuring, would resurface at Universal, which also distributes a new label run by her former boss, industry veteran Thomas D. Mottola.
Vivendi Universal, which is buying the DreamWorks label from DreamWorks SKG for an estimated $100 million, plans to fold it into the company’s Interscope division.
