Proposal Would Close City-Run Prison

Officials want to shut down a city-run prison here that they say is a drain on their finances.
The recommendation from City Manager Martha Lofgren, which would eliminate 63 jobs, is set to be considered by the City Council next week.
Folsom officials say they expect to lose $1.4 million on the Folsom Community Correction Facility, which houses nearly 400 minimum-security inmates.
