U.S. Fears Missing Jet May Be Used for Crime

A chartered Boeing 727 missing since it took off from an airport in Angola late last month probably is being used for criminal purposes but has not been linked to a terrorist plot, a U.S. government official said.
The plane was chartered from an Angolan company with a history of having planes vanish for insurance money or to be used for drug smuggling, the official said on condition of anonymity. Authorities in Africa are reportedly searching for the plane.
