9 Men Held in Connection With Slaying
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies detained nine men Sunday in connection with a fatal stabbing in Walnut Park, officials said.
Deputies were called to a house in the 2000 block of East 76th Place about 7 a.m. after reports of a possible kidnapping. But when they got there, they found a dead man with multiple stab wounds lying in the front yard, surrounded by a group of men, officials said.
The men ran, and the deputies gave chase. Six men were caught almost immediately, officials said. But others disappeared into the surrounding neighborhood.
To find them, deputies sealed off about a half-dozen blocks for a few hours and then went through the neighborhood with tracking dogs. Eventually, three more men were caught.
