1 Killed, 5 Injured in Fire at Care Facility

One man was killed and five other people, including a police officer, were injured in an early morning fire at an Auburn care facility.
The blaze broke out Thursday at the Pleasantdale Care Home. It housed 12 clients and two staff members.
The deceased resident has been identified as Joseph Corbelli, 69, who appears to have died of smoke inhalation, the Placer County coroner’s office reported.
One of the injured was Sgt. Scott Burns, who helped carry residents to safety.
