1 Man Dead, 1 Wounded in Drive-By Shooting

A gunman firing from a minivan killed one man and wounded another early Saturday, authorities said.
The attack in the 8600 block of Bandera Avenue occurred about 1:45 a.m. after the vehicle rolled up to a group of men standing on the sidewalk, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Richard Westin.
The fatally wounded man was shot several times in the upper body; a second victim, not part of the group, was wounded but expected to survive, Westin said. The motive for the shooting was unclear. Anyone with information was asked to call detectives at (323) 890-5500.
