Multiple Malpractices

Michael Ramirez’s editorial cartoon (Commentary, Jan. 4) regarding North Carolina Sen. John Edwards -- a former trial lawyer -- is a cheap shot, very much like the attack on trial lawyers for suing doctors and the malpractice issue. It’s about time the media realized that there would be no malpractice issue if the medical profession followed its Hippocratic oath of “first do no harm.” Physician, heal thyself. Ask yourself why there are so many medical malpractice lawsuits brought. The liability insurance industry is pulling the wool over your eyes -- as it always has done.
