Don’t Doctor the Figures

Re “Turning Patients Into Hostages,” Commentary, Jan. 6: If Jonathan Turley wanted to be true to his calling as a professional he should have done a little more research before he pulled the amount of average physician income from his hat. In fact, most new doctors today would have been quite happy with an annual income at 60% of the $200,000 so carelessly quoted by professor Turley, and some are actually earning not much more than the cashier at your local grocery store. Perchance Turley can provide me with applications for some of the $200,000-to-$1-million jobs he so recklessly touted?
