Hooked on Cucuy

THOUGH I’m not exactly Hispanic and my knowledge of Spanish is poor, I am nevertheless hooked on Cucuy en la Manana on KSCA-FM (“Making (Air) Waves,” by Jennifer Mena, Jan. 1). Cucuy’s velvety voice, hysterical canned laughter, zany personality and sobbing women keep me somehow pumped up. He has that mysterious something that keeps this gringa tuned in.
