Retired Professor Guilty in $400,000 Swindle

A retired Purdue University professor has been convicted of bilking a San Joaquin tomato grower of nearly $400,000 intended to start a tomato-processing plant.
A federal jury took less than four hours Friday to convict Glenn Herman Sullivan of interstate transportation of stolen money and money laundering. Sullivan, 61, was indicted in September 2001. A federal judge set April 7 for sentencing.
