Sotheby’s sues Michael Jackson

Sotheby’s Holdings Inc. filed suit in New York on Friday against Michael Jackson, saying the pop singer’s company has reneged on a deal to pay $1.3 million for two paintings.
Sotheby’s said Jackson’s company, MJJ Productions Inc., successfully bid in October on two paintings by the 19th century French artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau. But it has refused to pay because, Sotheby’s said, Jackson now believes the paintings no longer fit his collection.
A call to an MJJ spokesman wasn’t immediately returned.
