American Brothers Are to Be Deported
Philippine authorities said they were set to deport two American brothers arrested for suspected links to terrorism. Michael Ray Stubbs, 55, and his brother James, 56, a convert to Islam, were arrested on immigration charges earlier this month in the town of Tanza, 15 miles southwest of Manila, the Bureau of Immigration said.
The statement said the brothers were born in Missouri. James Stubbs is also known as Jamil Daoud Mujahid, a State Department spokesman said.
They are being deported based on reports that they met with leaders of terrorist cells linked to Al Qaeda, officials said.
