Shereka Wright had 23 points and nine rebounds to lead No. 8 Purdue to a 65-61 victory Friday night over No. 20 UC Santa Barbara at West Lafayette, Ind.
Wright had five crucial points late in the game for the Boilermakers (8-1), who overcame 22% shooting from the floor in the first half.
The Gauchos (5-3) took a 58-57 lead with just over two minutes to play on two free throws by Lindsay Taylor. But Wright responded with a jumper and a three-point basket on consecutive possessions to give Purdue a 62-58 lead with 1:04 to play.
No. 4 Texas Tech 74, Washington 70 -- Erin Grant made an eight-footer in the lane with 11 seconds left, and Chesley Dabbs made two free throws with 1.5 seconds left to lift the Red Raiders (10-0) over the Huskies (6-2) at Seattle.
