SARS Not Found in Infected Man’s Contacts

Two scientists who were exposed to a Taiwanese man with SARS later flew to the United States, but they have shown no symptoms of the disease and there is no cause for alarm, health authorities said.
In fact, severe acute respiratory syndrome symptoms have not been reported in any known contacts of the 44-year-old military scientist diagnosed in Taiwan, World Health Organization spokeswoman Maria Cheng said. Nearly 100 people in Taiwan and Singapore have been quarantined because they were exposed to the man.
