Beautiful, Not Better
The near-bookless library in Woodland Hills (letter, Aug. 27) could have been the new Westchester library. It too is a brand-new, beautiful building with the latest electronic equipment, supposedly combining two well-stocked neighborhood branch libraries.
But where are the books? There are many half-empty shelves and always a long wait in line to ask for help from the librarian. A beautiful building does not make a better library.
