Iraq Lifts Ban on 2 Al Jazeera Journalists
From Times Wire Reports
The Iraqi Information Ministry lifted its ban on two correspondents for the Arab TV network Al Jazeera and said the pair could resume broadcasting from Baghdad, the Qatar-based satellite station said. The move came a day after Iraqi officials ordered one reporter expelled and prevented the other from working.
Al Jazeera had said Iraqi officials gave no reason for the ban. It had announced it would stop all correspondents’ reports from Iraq and would broadcast only images received from Baghdad.
