Edith Weiss, 90, a Democratic Party fund-raiser and organizer who served on the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission, died Friday of natural causes in Santa Monica.

Long the public relations director for the Los Angeles International Music Festival at UCLA, Weiss was appointed to the Los Angeles County Music Commission in 1959 by Supervisor Ernest E. Debs.

Weiss moved to Los Angeles in 1938 and, as she told The Times 20 years ago, “it never occurred to me to look for a job anywhere except in the film industry. I couldn’t type--still can’t--but I got a job doing PR or publicity ... and I’ve been at it ever since.â€
