After the Deluge

My husband and I returned recently from a week in the Czech Republic. I’ve heard repeatedly that tourism is down because of fear of disease or other problems related to the floods in August.
Cleanup has proceeded at an impressive pace in the Czech Republic. Many buildings had been repaired, replastered, recarpeted and repainted by the time we arrived on Sept. 6. We suffered no food-related illnesses even though we took no precautions.
The best way to help Central Europe recover from the economic devastation of the recent floods is to continue with travel plans.
