Funds Set Up to Aid Man Who Lost Wife, Children

Neighbors of a Florence man whose wife and three children were killed Wednesday night by a hit-and-run driver have set up a relief fund for funeral and travel expenses.
The California Highway Patrol and the Sheriff’s Department also have established a fund for Jose Antonio Sanchez. Supporters can send donations care of the Sanchez Family Fund at #404 11505 S. Colima Road, Whittier, CA 90604.
The neighbors’ fund is being collected in a Wells Fargo Bank account. The account number is 1487226688.
Evelia Sanchez, 31, and her three small children, Andrea, Carlos and Rafael, died when a van allegedly driven by Martin Valadez struck them on Compton Avenue. Valadez faces felony murder charges and is being held without bail.
