EchoStar Revises Plan for Hughes

EchoStar Communications Corp. offered a revised plan to buy Hughes Electronics Corp. meant to persuade regulators to reverse a decision blocking the $18-billion satellite-television combination.
EchoStar and Hughes refused to make public the joint filing to the Federal Communications Commission. The agency set Wednesday as the deadline for any changes to the proposed purchase of DirecTV parent Hughes from General Motors Corp.
