Caltrans Crew Finds Woman’s Body in Bag
From Times Staff Reports
A woman’s body was found in a trash bag by a Caltrans crew clearing brush along southbound Interstate 5 on Saturday morning, according to police.
The badly decomposed remains were sent to the Los Angeles County coroner for identification. “At this time, we’re unable to tell how old the person was or even what nationality they were,” said Officer Alan dela Pena, of the Whittier Police, which patrols the area.
Police are investigating the discovery as a homicide, but Dela Pena said the victim could have been a transient who used the bag to stay warm.
