Vote Process OK, but Costly, Group Says

The independent monitor Miami-Dade County hired to assess its performance in this month’s election said the process was well run, but at $3 million cost twice as much as normal.
Miami-Dade mobilized nearly 3,500 county employees so voters could cast their ballots without delay.
The Washington, D.C.-based Center for Democracy said the county could save money by training its staff better and working with the maker of its touch-screen voting machines to ensure they are set up efficiently.
