Board Asked to Delay Closing of 2 Hospitals

The county Department of Health Services wants the Board of Supervisors to delay until January a decision on whether to close two of the county’s four full-service hospitals.
In a memo Tuesday, the department cited the passage of Measure B, which will raise property taxes and garner about $168 million for trauma and emergency care. The supervisors will vote Tuesday on turning Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Olive View-UCLA Medical Center into outpatient clinics.
