Bound Man Found in Speeding Driver’s Trunk
A speeding driver was arrested early Friday on suspicion of carjacking and kidnapping after Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies found a bound and beaten man in the trunk of the car.
Officials said Jovon Lamont Williams, 20, and his passenger appeared nervous when deputies stopped them for speeding on Lancaster Boulevard just before 1:30 a.m., so the deputies separated them. The passenger told deputies that Williams and another man who was no longer in the car had pistol-whipped his friend John Anzalone and put him in the trunk.
Williams’ alleged accomplice, William Alridge, 19, was arrested at a nearby home.
