School District Settles Bias Suit for $140,000

A former biology teacher who claimed she was harassed by co-workers because she is a lesbian settled a lawsuit with the Oceanside school district for $140,000.
Dawn Murray said school officials ignored her complaints about harassment, and she sued the district seven years ago. As part of the settlement, Murray has resigned and the district will provide sensitivity training on sexual orientation to employees.
