Amtrak’s daily Southwest Chief train, which travels between Los Angeles and Chicago, now stops at the downtown Riverside station, also used by Metrolink trains, between its San Bernardino and Fullerton stops.... New York’s revered Museum of Modern Art will close its Manhattan building for three years beginning Tuesday while it expands it. In the interim it will mount exhibitions at a temporary facility on 33rd Street at Queens Boulevard in Long Island City, Queens, starting June 29. (212) 708-9400, www.moma.org.... Carnival Cruise Lines will switch its 2,124-passenger Carnival Pride from Florida to its new Long Beach terminal (opening in spring 2003) to make weeklong Mexican Riviera cruises starting Sept. 21, 2003. Fares begin at $599 per person, double occupancy. The Carnival Pride will replace the 2,052-passenger Elation, which will shift to Galveston, Texas, for seven-day cruises to Belize and Mexico.
