Man Who Called 911 Held in Woman’s Death

A man who called 911 to report that a woman he lived with had stopped breathing was arrested after an autopsy revealed she had been struck on the head and smothered, police said.
William F. Armendizo, 31, was being held Friday at Newport Beach City Jail on $250,000 bond in the death of Jessica H. Martin, 29.
Police went to the home Monday night after Armendizo called them. He was arrested Friday.
