Sprinters Felix, Perkins Look to Shine

Junior Allyson Felix of North Hills L.A. Baptist and senior Angel Perkins of Cerritos Gahr will try to add to their impressive sprint credentials Saturday in the Southern Section divisional track and field championships at Cerritos College in Norwalk.
Felix, the defending state champion in the girls’ 100 meters, is favored to win her third consecutive Division IV titles in the 100 and 200.
Perkins, defending state champion in the girls’ 200, is favored to win her second consecutive Division II titles in the 100, 200 and 400. The Arizona-bound Perkins also won Division I titles in the 200 and 400 in 2000.
The meet starts at 10:30 a.m. with the girls’ pole vault. Track events start at 1 p.m.
