‘Spider-Man’ Is Still Swinging

“Spider-Man” grossed $71.4 million in its second weekend in release, a record sophomore-weekend performance. The Sony / Columbia Pictures release has now taken in $223 million, reaching the $200-million level in only nine days, also a record.
“Unfaithful,” which opened Wednesday, debuted in second place with $14.1 million for Friday through Sunday, while “The New Guy” opened in third with $9 million for the weekend.
