Doctor Found in Trunk After Alleged Carjacking

A physician from Arizona was found locked in the trunk of his car in Balboa Park, the victim of an alleged carjacking-kidnapping.
Mark Paul Salerno, 45, a pediatrician from Scottsdale, had been reported missing Monday. He told police he was carjacked.
Salerno was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center with dehydration and exhaustion. He had been scheduled to appear in court Tuesday on a car theft charge.
