A founding faculty member has been selected as keynote speaker at Moorpark College’s 35th annual commencement ceremony this month.
Al Nordquist, who started at the school in 1967 and will retire this year as a dean of academic programs, will address students and faculty at 5 p.m. on May 16.
“Al represents the very best of what makes Moorpark College great,” President James Walker said.
Nordquist launched the intercollegiate men’s basketball program. In 1999, he was inducted into the California Community College Basketball Hall of Fame.
