Gutierrez, Sims Resign Coaching Positions

Eddie Gutierrez, a walk-on boys’ basketball coach at Simi Valley Royal the last two seasons, has resigned for personal reasons, Athletic Director Jim Wilber said.
Jimmy Sims has resigned as football coach at Torrance Bishop Montgomery to become an instructor and assistant football coach at L.A. Valley College, Athletic Director Steve Miller said. The Knights went 2-7 last season, 1-2 in the Serra League.
The Highlanders finished 1-23, 0-12 in the Marmonte League in Gutierrez’s first season, but improved to 9-16, 3-9 this season.
