Memories Enshrined
Glad to hear that the Shrine Auditorium is getting renovated (“You Know Where to Find Me, Oscar,†March 21). I have been there many times, including to work the Academy Awards as a scenic artist. But one indelible memory is from the late 1960s, when, as a college student, I attended a Cream concert. Ginger Baker did a long drum solo and fell off the back of the stage; later an announcement was made (I am not making this up) that a baby had just been born in the women’s bathroom. Wish I knew the follow-up story about mother and child.
