Adams, Crockett Earn State Basketball Honors
Hassan Adams of Westchester High and Willnett Crockett of Harbor City Narbonne have been selected the state boys’ and girls’ basketball players of the year by Gatorade, and are eligible to be national players of the year when those awards are announced in April.
Adams averaged 20.1 points, 2.3 assists, 6.1 rebounds and three steals per game for Westchester, which won the Division I state championship. He also has a 3.0 grade-point average and will attend Arizona.
Crockett averaged 14 points, 12.5 rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocked shots for Narbonne, which won the City Section championship and lost in the Southern California Regional final to state champion Lynwood. Crockett has a 3.1 GPA and will play at Connecticut.
