2 Soldiers Are Executed for Priest’s Slaying

Two Ugandan soldiers were publicly executed after a military court found them guilty of murdering an Irish priest, a military official said.
A firing squad executed Cpl. James Omedio and Pvt. Abdallah Mohammed on Monday in the northeastern town of Kotido, an army spokesman said.
The Rev. Declan O’Toole, 31, his driver and another passenger were shot and killed last week as they traveled in the Karamoja region. The Rev. Joseph Jones, a Dublin-based colleague of O’Toole, said senior officers may have been to blame for the killings.
