National Federation to Allow Use of Titanium Bats Meeting Standards
- Share via
High school baseball players can immediately begin using titanium bats that meet the ball exit speed ratio performance, the National Federation of State High School Assns. announced Friday.
Titanium bats had been banned this season. The organization’s baseball rules committee voted last June that all non-wood bats must have a BESR certification mark to be legal for high school baseball effective Jan. 1, 2003.
Since many bats with the BESR standard are already on the market, the rules committee voted to allow those bats to be used immediately.
