Sewage Spill Closes North Star Beach

North Star Beach in Newport Bay was closed to swimmers Tuesday after a sewage spill, officials said.
The spill, which officials said was caused by a line blockage, discharged about 2,000 gallons of sewage into the water. The beach will be closed until further notice, said officials of the Orange County Environmental Health Division.
