8 Killed, 71 Hurt During Annual Motorcycle Rally
From Times Wire Reports
Bike Week, Florida’s yearly Woodstock for an estimated half a million motorcyclists, ended with dozens injured and eight killed in motorcycle-linked collisions.
The pace of the rally, now in its 61st year, was described by officials as similar to past Bike Weeks and to be expected, given the estimated 500,000 motorcyclists in town.
As of late Sunday, the number of motorcycle-related fatalities totaled eight in Volusia County and 71 people had been injured over a 10-day period.
