Democratic Ticket
California may be a statistically diverse state, but you would never know it by looking at the election results in the statewide offices. The Democrats (pretty sure bets to win in the general election) have a slate with only one Latino, Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante, breaking the all-white male lineup at the top of the state.
Latino power? Women power? A government that reflects the diversity of the state? If that were true, 85.7% of the state would be white men and 14.3% Latino men. That’s it, folks. Guess we had better not celebrate just yet.
Of course a Democrat (Gray Davis) may have won the Republican primary, so what can we say.
