Oakes Selected National Player of Year
Jill Oakes, a senior at North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake, has been selected the Gatorade national girls’ soccer player of the year.
Oakes helped lead the Wolverines to their second consecutive Southern Section Division IV title. In 20 games this season, she had 21 goals and 13 assists. Oakes, who has a 3.17 grade-point average, was one of two high school players to join the U.S. women’s national team for games this year.
