Beaches to Have Daily Lifeguard Coverage

Lifeguards will be posted seven days a week at Hollywood and Silver Strand beaches this summer after all.
Ventura County Harbor Director Lyn Krieger said Tuesday she has found a way to make sure the beaches are monitored. Instead of 15 lifeguards, 10 will be patrolling the beaches, making it possible to cover more shifts, she said.
The decision reverses an earlier cost-cutting proposal to reduce lifeguard services to four days a week.
