Clinic Owner Pleads Guilty to Tax Fraud
The owner and medical director of a hemorrhoid clinic pleaded guilty to federal income tax evasion in a scheme allegedly involving use of false identities to cheat the government of $370,000.
Dr. Rick A. Shacket, 47, who specializes in proctology and laser surgery, faces a maximum of five years in prison when sentenced Oct. 25. The clinic’s former medical director, Russell Ward, has also pleaded guilty in the case and has been sent to prison.
