Man Involved in Slaying Sought
A suspect in the slaying of a Canoga Park man over the weekend remained at large Monday, Los Angeles police said.
Carlos Gallegos, 25, was walking with a friend in the 21100 block of Wyandotte Street in Canoga Park about 2:50 a.m. Saturday when a man approached them, Det. Rick Swanston said. The two argued, then the unidentified man pulled out a handgun and shot Gallegos in the back and leg.
Two other men joined the suspect, and one of them was seen entering a red 1985 Toyota minivan, Swanston said. The others fled on foot, he said.
Gallegos’ friend ran away unharmed, Swanston said.
Gallegos was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:50 a.m., Swanston said.
Anyone with information may call the West Valley homicide unit at (818) 756-8546.
