Event to Provide Help for Homeless Veterans
From Times Staff Reports
Homeless veterans can receive free medical treatment, legal services and employment counseling at the 10th annual Ventura County Stand Down this weekend at Ventura College.
Organizers expect about 200 area veterans to attend the event, which begins today and lasts through Sunday. The goal is to help veterans break out of the cycle of homelessness.
Veterans will live in tents and have access to public and private service agencies, showers and clean clothing. The college is at 4667 Telegraph Road.
