Kurdish Immigrant Held in ‘Honor Killing’

Swedish police said they had arrested a Kurdish immigrant on suspicion of killing his daughter, who reportedly planned to marry against his wishes.
The victim, 21-year-old television presenter Asrin Masifi, was initially thought to have hanged herself after her body was found April 26. Local media said an inquest found she was strangled.
Police arrested Masifi’s father on suspicion of murder and her sister as a suspected accomplice. Neither has yet been charged in the alleged “honor killing.†Masifi’s family disapproved of her plans to marry her Kurdish boyfriend, media reported.
