Mother Arrested for Leaving Girl in Hot Car
A mother was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment Sunday after her 3-year-old daughter was found in a parked car in Stevenson Ranch, where temperatures reached 100 degrees, authorities said.
Anna Oryan, 30, is being held at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita station in lieu of $50,000 bail, said Deputy Juan Espinoza.
About 4 p.m., a passerby at a Wal-Mart parking lot in the 25400 block of The Old Road noticed the girl, who authorities believe had been sitting alone for 20 minutes. A store employee rescued the girl through an unlocked door and brought her into the store, Espinoza said.
Paramedics took the girl to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, where she was released to her father with no serious injuries, Espinoza said.
