Slaying Suspect Hits, Kills Other Motorist, 80

A teenager sought in connection with a slaying who was fleeing police killed an 80-year-old man when their vehicles collided, authorities said Tuesday.
Jake T. Teruyuki was killed Monday night near 4th and Soto streets when his Honda Prelude was hit by a Jeep Cherokee driven by Robert Chavez, 19.
Chavez was arrested on suspicion of murder and vandalism in the Inland Valley area, said Los Angeles Police Officer Alex Baez.
Detectives are investigating whether Chavez should be charged in Teruyuki’s death. Chavez was unhurt.
